Eid Mubarak! These photographers show Eid in Morocco
Eid Mubarak! For this occasion we are sharing with you three Moroccan photographers that captured Eid in an artsy manner: Atik Mouatssim, Yassine Alaoui Ismaili and Rida Tabit.

Yassine: “For the past ten years, I’ve been documenting Eid prayer in Casablanca. The very first photo happened by chance in 2015 and it became the main reason I entered the world of professional photography.
Nine years ago, I went with my grandmother and mother to the Eid al-Fitr prayer. I sat down like everyone else, chanting the takbir and waiting for the prayer to begin. Suddenly, I was surprised to see that the designated prayer area had filled up completely, and people started laying down their rugs in the street.
I had a small camera with me. I stood where I was and began taking a few photos, but I couldn’t capture everything I was seeing with my eyes. So I decided to look for a better angle.
I noticed a building to my left with the door open. I quickly made my way in, climbed the stairs, and reached the rooftop. What I saw was unbelievable—the entire street was covered in colorful prayer rugs.
As I started photographing the scene, a voice suddenly called out from behind me: “Thief! Thief!”
I turned around, shocked, and saw a woman in her fifties, clearly frightened.
I quickly said:
— “Don’t worry, I’m not a thief—I’m a friend of Saïd.”
She replied:
— “Saïd who lives on the second floor?”
I answered in surprise:
— “Yes! I’m waiting for him so we can go to prayer together.”
She said:
— “Oh my son, I’m the only one here. I thought you were trying to steal the laundry!”
I laughed and reassured her:
— “It’s okay, really. Don’t worry.”
She left, and I continued taking photos.”
