Exciting News: We're exhibiting @Jajjah, Marrakech
After building a digital storytelling platform and creative community over the past period, Atay Atelier is now expanding into the physical space with Cross Lens. An exhibition that brings together Moroccan and Moroccan-Dutch photographers exploring identity, migration, and belonging. A celebration of photography, connection, and the stories that unite us.
At Atay Atelier, we’ve built an online space that celebrates and redefines Moroccan contemporary art. A space where artists share their worlds, and audiences see parts of their own reflected. Through digital storytelling, we’ve made art visible, relatable, and accessible for a new generation that believes in the power of creativity to connect us.
With the current exhibition Cross Lens, we’re bringing that conversation into a shared, physical space. In collaboration with artist Hassan Hajjaj, the exhibition takes place at Jajjah in Sidi Ghanem, Marrakech, from 1 to 28 November. We are truly excited to finally bring our community and ideas to life in a physical space, and to share this moment with everyone who has followed and supported our journey.
The exhibition features eight Moroccan and Moroccan-Dutch photographers: Sarah Amrani, Sabrina Charehbili, Jinane Ennasri, Safaa Kotbi, Mounir Raji, Fatimazohra Serri, Ismail Zaidy, and Dunya Zita. Each artist explores identity and belonging in their own way. For example, through family life, urban and rural landscapes, football, cultural traditions, and moments of personal reflection.
Together, their work brings attention to the everyday moments and quiet gestures that shape personal and collective identities. Through these images, audiences can get a sense of how these photographers interpret life, memory, and connection: highlighting the nuances that carry meaning and reveal stories often overlooked.
All artworks from the Cross Lens exhibition are available for purchase via Atay Atelier, where more information about each specific work can be found.
In addition, we have published a special edition publication to accompany the exhibition, offering a deeper exploration of the artists, the stories behind their works, and the exhibition itself. Created with great care and attention, the publication is available for purchase via our website and is a beautiful way to engage further with the Cross Lens exhibition.
