Photography exhibition Cross Lens in coming to Amsterdam!

After a successful first edition in Marrakech, Cross Lens is coming to Amsterdam.

Cross Lens is a photography exhibition by Atay Atelier that brings together photographers from Morocco and the Netherlands. The exhibition explores themes such as cultural identity, representation, self-image and the way we look at each other through photography.

The Marrakech edition was realised in collaboration with the Dutch Embassy in Morocco and under the artistic guidance of renowned artist Hassan Hajjaj. Now, the project continues in Amsterdam, where the story takes on a new local context.

For the Amsterdam edition, we are proud to present works by:

Sarah Amrani, Sabrina Charehbili, Jinane Ennasri, Safaa Kotbi, Mounir Raji, Fatimazohra Serri, Ismail Zaidy and Dunya Zita.

Each artist brings their own visual language and perspective. Some works speak about migration, memory and belonging. Others explore beauty, everyday life, identity and the power of personal storytelling. Together, they create a dialogue between Morocco and the Netherlands, between generations, and between different ways of seeing.

In Amsterdam, Cross Lens will be presented at MAQAM in the Kolenkitbuurt. This location is important to us. It allows the exhibition to connect not only with the art world, but also with the neighbourhood, young people, local communities and a new generation of image-makers.

For Atay Atelier, Cross Lens is more than an exhibition. It is a space for meeting, reflection and exchange. Through photography, we want to open up conversations about how people are seen, how they see themselves, and how images can challenge or reshape existing narratives.

The opening evening will bring together artists, partners, guests and community around talks, music, food and, of course, atay.
