This photographer shows the importance of Football in Morocco
Jinane Ennasri is a Moroccan photographer with a strong passion for football. The sport is central to her artistic vision, and she has established herself as a sports photographer, capturing PSG in 2021. Recently she collaborated with Nike for WAFCON. We asked her about Morocco’s victory during the U20 World Cup.

Football in Morocco: More than a Game
Football has always been woven into the fabric of daily life in Morocco. From children playing in the streets to the electrifying atmosphere in stadiums, it is more than just a sport: it is a language of belonging, pride, and possibility.
When Morocco’s national team impressed the world during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, it became a turning point. It showed that Morocco could compete at the very highest level and gave people a renewed sense of confidence. Since then, milestones have followed: the women’s team breaking barriers at WAFCON, and most recently, the U20 team lifting the World Cup trophy.

A Photographer’s Eye
For Jinane Ennasri, these moments are not just highlights on a scoreboard, they are living stories. Her lens captures the intimacy of football: the faces in the crowd, the joy of a goal, the quiet pride of young players stepping into history. Her work shows how sport is tied to culture, identity, and the dreams of a nation.

Jinane on Morocco’s U20 Victory
Reflecting on the recent triumph, Jinane says:
“Yesterday wasn’t just a win: it was a reflection of Morocco’s young spirit. The U20s made history, but their victory carries something deeper: a generation that dreams aloud, questions, and rebuilds. One that asks for a country rooted in care, dignity, and possibility. This moment is only a fragment of what future Moroccans will shape: on and far beyond the field.”
